Residents of Hazlet, Freehold, Englishtown and Middletown were among those arrested recently by police departments in Monmouth County.
According to news releases from police departments in Middletown, Manalapan and Aberdeen:
Middletown Patrolman Charles Higgins took a 17-year-old boy from Matawan into custody on May 21, on a charge of simple assault. He was released pending a court date.

Gabriel Ramos, 71, from Pine Creek Road in Hazlet, was arrested by Middletown Patrolman John Mele on May 22, on a fugitive warrant, charing him with arson. That warrant was issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court. There was also a contempt of court warrant issued by the Hazlet Municipal Court for his arrest. He was held on $50,500 bail.
Taylor Tabasco, 24, from Tulip Lane in Freehold, was arrested on May 24 by Middletown Patrolman James Beirne on charges of providing false information to a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of heroin, and unlawful possession of Alprazolam. She was also wanted on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Holmdel Municipal Court. She was held on $15,250 bail.

Barbara Torres, 27, from Garden Place in Spring Lake Heights, was arrested on May 24 by Middletown Patrolman James Beirne on a charge of driving while intoxicated. She was released pending a court date.
Theresa Whittaker, 24, from Aspen Lane in Tinton Falls, was arrested on May 28 by Middletown Patrolman Patrick Leonard on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. She was released pending a court date.
Ronald Shopp, 28, from Elm Avenue in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested on May 28 by Middletown Detective Keith Hirschbein on charges of possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on $22,500 bail.
Sarah K. Ruddy, 30, of Metuchen, was arrested in Aberdeen on May 22 on a charge of obstruction of justice related to a May 16 incident at the WaWa store on Route 35. She was also found to be wanted for contempt out of Linden and Long Hill municipal courts. Officer John Zeller was the arresting officer.
Wayne M. Tuman, 50, of Englishtown, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and failure to exhibit registration and insurance following a motor vehicle stop on Gerard Avenue in Aberdeen on May 22. Officer John Zeller made the arrest.
James N. Norris, 46, of East Brunswick, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, driving while suspended, and failure to exhibit registration and insurance following a motor vehicle stop on Seawood Drive in Aberdeen on May 25. Officer Frank Maisano made the arrest.
Michael C. Byrne, 40, of Matawan, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving while suspended, failure to exhibit registration and insurance, and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Route 35 in Aberdeen on May 25. He was also wanted on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court. Officer Matthew McDow made the arrest.
Around 5:30 p.m. on May 31, a 40-year-old Manalapan woman responded to Manalapan police headquarters with her 13-year-old son and his 12-year-old friend to report that while walking on Lamb Lane at approximately 11:15 a.m. that day a white male in his late 50s with a tan complexion, wavy shoulder length brown hair with some gray, brownish gray mustache, and wrinkles or bags underneath his eyes approached the juveniles in his vehicle and asked them if they could help him find his cat. The juveniles ran away from the scene and the male continued driving on Lamb Lane towards Sweetman’s Lane. The juveniles described the vehicle as a silver four-door sedan with New Jersey license plates. The incident matches a similar incident that occurred on May 30 in Jackson. Officer Matthew Mattia handled the report.
Around noon on May 29, a 31-year-old Manalapan man reported that an engagement ring was stolen from his home. The ring was said to be valued at $17,700. Manalapan Patrolman Kevin McIntosh handled the report.
Around 10:30 a.m. on May 29 Manalapan Patrolman John Lightbody responded to a home on Meadow Court for a theft report. The victim, a 44-year-old woman, reported two wrought iron lawn chairs were taken from her property during the night on May 28. The lawn chairs are valued at $90 each. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department. Patrolman John Lightbody handled the report.
