What does the Bible say about the love of God?
From Genesis to Revelation, the God of the Bible shows His love for His creation and people in awe-inspiring ways—nothing more inspiring than at the cross of Jesus Christ.
God loves humanity and desires all to be saved (John 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:4). But our sin separates us from a right relationship with God and puts us under His condemnation (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Isaiah 59:2). At the cross, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, paid the price for our sin by giving His life as an atoning sacrifice for sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). Three days later He rose from the dead, victorious over death. We receive the free gift of forgiveness and salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation. Colossians 1:21–22 NIV
